First ultra-100Ah monomer lithium metal battery Apollo was launched, and commercial mass production will be carried out in 2025

On November 4, 2021, SES, developer and manufacturer of hybrid lithium metal batteries, officially released Apollo lithium metal batteries. With a capacity of 107Ah, a weight of only 0.982Kg, and an energy density of 417Wh/kg and 935Wh/L, this battery is the world’s first public display of ultra-100Ah monomer lithium metal batteries, and is also known to have the largest lithium metal battery in the world.

The birth of Apollo lithium metal battery is of great significance to the development of global electric vehicle power battery technology.

Hu Qichao, founder and CEO of SES, said: “At present, the Apollo battery needs further testing and optimization, but the performance it has shown has made us feel very excited. “

According to Hu Qichao, at room temperature for 10 hours, 3 hours and 1 hour discharge test, Apollo batteries have shown extremely high capacity and energy density.

“Cars need to work in different operating environments and temperatures, whether it is cold or hot, or fast or slow driving, they need to have stable performance. Therefore, the power battery of electric vehicles needs to be able to provide high energy density over a wide range of temperatures and power. From the data point of view, the performance of hybrid lithium metal batteries is far better than that of solid-state batteries. Hu Qichao said.

Founded in 2012, SES is a comprehensive lithium metal battery manufacturer with strong strength in materials, cells, modules, battery safety algorithms based on artificial intelligence learning and battery recycling, formerly known as SolidEnergy Systems, headquartered in Singapore and operating in Boston, Shanghai and Seoul. It is also the only company in the world that has signed a joint development agreement with major automakers for A samples of lithium metal batteries.
